Insightful horticulturists with deep knowledge of the Garden's collection guide students through making informed plant selections and placements. Ideal for professionals and homeowners, this program is a building block for any desert landscaping or gardening project. Expect to learn about cacti, agaves, yuccas, trees, shrubs, vines, groundcovers, ornamental grasses and bulbs, herbaceous perennials and more.

For those equipped with the knowledge to see it, the arid desert bristles with abundant and diverse life. Learn the fundamentals of plant biology and desert ecology to see and identify the myriad species that live and interact in this climate, and how to create landscapes that make the most of their desert-adapted advantages. In this 20-hour program, plant experts illustrate the basics of desert plant growth, reproduction and function.

Programs will run as scheduled, regardless of weather, unless participants are contacted directly by Garden staff either by phone or email.
