Cooking and Wellness
Join our entertaining demonstration classes to explore new cuisines, cooking techniques or how to sharpen your culinary skills in a relaxed environment. No matter your culinary passion, we offer a wide variety of classes that will suit your lifestyle. From beginner cooking 101 classes, baking or international cuisines, experience a truly unique culinary event with family and friends. The Garden also offers wellness programs including yoga and tai chi held outdoors in stunning Garden settings. Classes are kept small and suitable for all levels of experience.

All cooking classes are demonstration only, and participants enjoy a bountiful taste of each recipe shared by our chefs.

A deep dive into the world of craft chocolate! Experience a demonstration & discussion of micro-batch “bean-to-bar” craft chocolate making. Learn how cocoa beans are transformed into chocolate and discover the world of natural flavors that can be found in craft chocolate. Learn about the differences between “Industrial Chocolate” and Ethically-Sourced craft chocolate. Includes sampling of freshly roasted cocoa nibs, chocolate liquor (100% cacao; no sugar) & a guided tasting of single-origin dark chocolates. Experience the Chocolate Flavor Wheel. Instructed by Jim & Maureen Elitzak. Limit 24.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS | Desert Botanical Garden reserves the right to cancel programs at its discretion. Programs will run as scheduled, regardless of weather, unless participants are contacted directly by Garden staff. We reserve the right to substitute any instructors.
