Join our entertaining demonstration classes to explore new cuisines, cooking techniques or how to sharpen your culinary skills in a relaxed environment. No matter your culinary passion, we offer a wide variety of classes that will suit your lifestyle. From beginner cooking 101 classes, baking or international cuisines, experience a truly unique culinary event with family and friends. The Garden also offers wellness programs including yoga and tai chi held outdoors in stunning Garden settings. Classes are kept small and suitable for all levels of experience.

Teresa Hansen demonstrates the fundamentals of making soup from scratch, crafting a simple vinaigrette and finishing with decadent chocolate mousse. World of Chocolate

Dip a winter day in rich and decadent goodness with a special class led by local chocolatier Zak's Chocolate. Explore the craft of chocolate, learning about different kinds of cocoa beans, where they grow and how they become candy bars. Sample three different single-origin dark chocolates, a milk chocolate and a truffle made with Zak's award-winning House-Blend chocolate. Each guest will also take home a two-piece box of chocolates and a sample size of Zak's house-pressed cocoa powder to use at home. Bring a date and call it a belated Valentine. Limit 24.

Discover how easy it is to whip up this culinary treat at home in a variety of flavors, even chocolate. Recipes include fettuccini with olive oil breadcrumbs and roasted chickpeas, beet ravioli filled with goat cheese in brown butter hazelnut sage reduction and a chocolate fettuccini with Nutella sauce and ice cream. CANCELLATION POLICY

Program registration may be canceled up to two weeks prior to the start date for a $20 processing fee. If you are unable to attend a class/workshop, you may transfer your registration to an alternate participant with your confirmation. Desert Botanical Garden reserves the right to cancel programs at its discretion. Programs will run as scheduled, regardless of weather, unless participants are contacted directly by Garden staff either by phone or email.
